The Grisier Family Network is under upgrade

At approximately 3:10 PM EDT on August 17, 2007, I completed the first step in a site upgrade.
This has been a silent change over so far even though it was to upgrade the main program we use to publish our site.

This change will bring about some exciting possibilities as to how we can display our Family History information and images for your use.

If you see anything that is not working for you please contact us so that we may check into things.

Many thanks go out to D'Arcy and Okalene Grisier

As I returned from the recent reunion I was delighted to find a package of information that was sent to me by D'Arcy and Okalene Grisier of Utah.

Inside was a virtual goldmine worth of information of the Adolphus Grisier line in the Family tree. It has helped us to fill in some very large blank areas in the Grisier Family Database.

They also sent me a Biography on Capt Otto Woodson Grisier who had quite a distinguished career with the U.S. Navy.

We thank them and all who have helped us reconstruct our Family History.

September 1st is fast approaching.

So what you may ask.

Well only the event of the Century will take place on this day.

I am speaking of the 50th Wedding anniversary of Mr and Mrs Frederick William Grisier. Or as they are more affectionately known Fred and Helen.

A grand party is being held in their honor to share the Historical occasion with family and friends. A little birdy has suggested that some guests are going to atttend in bib-overalls and sandals.
Would they dare?

So, this guy wants a wife, you see...

From our Sister Phyllis, comes this little GEM.

A man wanted to get married. He was having trouble choosing among three likely candidates. He gives each woman a present of $5,000 and watches to see what they do with the money.

September is here and a few things in the works

As I look over to the left, I see that we have at least three Birthdays coming up.

  • Eric Grisier on the 9th
  • Cheyenne Sponsler on the 10th
  • Jason Sproles on the 24th

There may be more but those are the ones we presently have entered into our calendar. Try to get in touch and wish them all the best.

We also start out the Month celebrating the 48th Wedding Anniversary of Fredrick and Helen (Potts) Grisier. I am sure that they both will gush on how it has been a happy harmonious union and they are gleefully anticipating more to come.

As we start this new month of September, we should also keep the folks in the Southern middle coast states, in our thoughts. The total devastation of their homes and Cities is like nothing this country has experienced.

    News of Bretigney, France

Today as I was making a routine check of my many mail accounts, I found one that arrived from John Eckert, one of our members a few months back. Now when something like this happens I feel , well not to happy with myself.

John informed me that he and Nanette had recently visited our Hometown of Bretigney France. In doing so they met a relative that lives there named Didier Grisier. He hopes to get more information on the original Grisier family and Andre Grisier

John has shared some of his photos of the village with us and they are posted in the Gallery. Being one that has been very curious about where we came from I found the photos very enlightening, and have a feel for the type of country side where our "home" is.

John mentioned a problem he was having that I too have faced in the past. This is that he does not speak the French language. Perhaps I can add an inquiry of our members as to whether there are any knowledgeable in the language that would be able to assist us in correspondence. Please contact us if you do at grisier05@grisier.org
